Recherches actuelles 
- Nous reconstituons les génomes d’espèces disparues à partir de traces d’ADN extraites de fragments d’os ou de coprolithes (excréments fossilisés) datant de 20 000 à 50 000 ans. Nous avons récemment démontré que l’espèce Bison schoetensacki, présente en Europe depuis le début du Pléistocène moyen (750 000 ans avant le présent) jusqu’au Pléistocène supérieur, est une espèce sœur du bison d’Europe actuel, Bison bonasus (Palacio et al., 2017).
